[1269] End of the corridor, on the left.

Vladimir

[1271] Exit Vladimir.

Pozzo

[1271|001] (on the point of tears). [1272] I've lost my Kapp and Peterson!

Estragon

[1273] (convulsed with merriment). [1274] He'll be the death of me!

Pozzo

[1276] You didn't see by any chance - . [1277] (He misses Vladimir.)
[1279] Oh! [1280] He's gone! [1281] Without saying goodbye! [1282] How could he!
[1283] He might have waited!

Estragon

[1284] He couldn't.

Pozzo

[1285] Oh! [1286] (Pause.) [1287] Oh well then of course in that case...

Estragon

[1288] Come here.

Estragon

[1290] You'll see.

Pozzo

[1291] You want me to get up?

Estragon

[1292] Quick! [1293] (Pozzo gets up and goes over beside Estragon.
[1293|001] Estragon points off.) [1294] Look!

[1294|001] (having put on his glasses). [1295] Oh I say!

Estragon

[1296] It's all over.

[1297] Enter Vladimir, sombre. He shoulders Lucky out of his
way, kicks over the stool, comes and goes agitatedly.

Pozzo

[1298] He's not pleased.

Estragon

[1298|001] (to Vladimir) [1299] You missed a treat. [1300] Pity.

[1301] Vladimir halts, straightens the stool, comes and goes,
calmer.

Pozzo

[1302] He subsides. [1303] (Looking round.) [1304] [⁁] Indeed all subsides. [1305] A great
calm descends. [1307] (Raising his hand.) [1306] Listen! [1308] Pan sleeps.

Vladimir

[1310] Will night never come?
